Calligraphy ink keeps drying up?
I have the Schaefer Calligraphy Pen set. The way this set works is once you insert the ink cartridge into the pen/nub it pierces the ink cartridge..so basically if you take it out it spills if not stored completely horizontal. I had a half filled ink cartridge in one of my pens. A month later it was completely dried up! The ink is sort of expensive so how do I prevent the ink from drying up?

Since ink dries by evaporation you can prevent it evaporating – try covering the pen with cling film make sure it is completely covered. Normally the ink would dry in the pen nib and the ink in the cartridge would remain usable, meaning if you clean the nib and body of the pen (with the cartridge removed) the pen will work with a fresh flow of ink.
